SLC trip

We had a baby blessing of a family member on Sunday down in the Lehi area, so Brady asked if I wanted to go stay in Salt Lake City the night prior as a birthday getaway!

We drove straight to the mall, where I was able to get some retail therapy! Bryson wanted to ride the escalator so bad and we did a good job of redirecting him from them on the way into the mall. On our way out Brady took him up and down the escalator. Bryson was pretty happy about that!
We then checked into our hotel for a little down time before we went to dinner at PF Chang's with my in-laws!

After a great dinner, when we had returned to the hotel our beds were turned down and there were robes laying out on each bed. I thought it was so funny, wondering if there are really people who just strip down and get into robes when they see them. I wasn't about to try it, but Bryson offered to try it out!

We had two queen beds and we decided to have the boys in one and the girls in another!

The next morning we woke up early, enjoyed the breakfast there at the hotel then went swimming!

It was Kendyl's first time in a pool!
Bryson deciding if he should jump in from a standing position.
Then a sitting position.
Kendyl never showed much excitement or dislike of the water, she just went along for the swim!

After taking my pictures, I jumped in and the water felt like bath water!

We got back to the room to get ready for the blessing.

My Birthday

Birthday's are the one day that I have the opportunity to hear from everyone in my family! The morning started with me just taking my time getting ready, I had no where to go during the day and the only plans we had was to watch my nephew play basketball that evening. The kids happened to sleep in which was a great start! I spoke on the phone with family and I had a surprise visit from my in-laws who had come to give me cotton candy! They had casually questioned what my plans were for the evening and asked if I was going to eat with friends that evening. I said no, that I had met up with friends for dinner just a few nights ago. My father-in-law seemed confused and in my mind I didn't think anything odd of him having gotten the nights confused.
Sure enough as Brady and I were getting the kids ready to head out the door for the game, the door knocked. It was 5 of my girl friends!! They said "let's go", and I was so excited!
We decided to go to Texas Roadhouse and I wish I could have seen my face the second that a friend mentioned to the server that it was my birthday. Had I even thought ahead of time what they do for birthdays I would have opted for another restaurant. Sure enough time came and a saddle is wheeled to our table.
The picture shows just how embarrassed I was, I turned red. I got on the saddle, gave my name "Charlotte" and my age "20". Then they announced to the whole world that it's my Birthday, time has never stood so still, EVER!
We had the conversation of the effects of Radon in our homes etc, and we all decided to head over to Home Depot to get test kits. We are directed to aisle 15 for the kits and all five of us are searching this aisle. Looking everywhere for the kits, we even comment to each other that we obviously asked the wrong person for directions. We find another worker who takes us back to aisle 15 and walks straight up to this huge RED sign, protruding from the aisle that reads "Radon test kits". We all about died laughing, just having the feeling of being so dumb, but then realize that all of us have the same feeling. Seriously one of the best laughs!

We still did not want to call it a night so we headed over to Chilli's for desserts!
It was one of the funnest birthdays I have had! These girls are the funnest to hang out with, conversations are endless, the laughs are incomparable, and the friendships I truly treasure!
Thanks girls, and Brady for taking the kiddos!

Out of the norm

We went to an Aggie Basketball game, we were playing Montana Western (a small school), and the Aggies always had a big lead in the game. It sounds like a not so great game to be at, but I have never laughed so hard at a game before. First off Thank you to Darrin & Shanna for the tickets!!!
One of the things that totally made Bryson's day was being on the jumbo screen. He was on long enough for him to see himself wave and give a big cheesy smile!!

The game was not packed at all but the atmosphere was still pretty fun and the students of course were hilarious. One of the time outs the cheerleaders and dance squad took up the floor and were taking turns making tumbling passes. It was entertaining, something to pass the time. But as soon as they were done and they cleared from the floor for the game to resume, a rather hefty usher made a little cart wheel on the side of the court. He was probably so surprised at how many people actually noticed him, but the place just roared in cheers for him. I seriously got the best laugh out of that!

At the end of half time the Aggie players took the court and were shooting around. I was watching Tai Wesley as he dunked the ball and was shocked to see the backboard shatter.
Others may have thought that this was a nuisance but I thought it was really interesting to see what happens when things don't go as planned. They wheeled out another backboard to replace it and announce that there will be a 15 minute wait.
It was so fun to see both teams just hanging out, shooting with each other. One player started dancing that got everyone into cheers again.
These two couldn't leave each other alone! They weren't misbehaving, they both enjoyed playing with each other but it was interesting to see how they couldn't leave each other alone for even a few seconds.

The second backboard was getting ready to be lifted when we heard a POP. The second backboard shattered.

I died laughing!! Brady started saying "lets go", but I kept saying "Heck no, this is the most entertainment I have had in a long time"! So we stayed to see what the solution would be. Brady was certain that there was no way they'd have another backboard. The crowd is now chanting "half court game".

They ended up bringing out a practice standard, that got set up rather quickly. The overall delay was 45 minutes, but the game finally resumed.
We did still leave early from the game and I was shocked at the amount of snow that fell in only two hours.
I guess getting out of the norm sometimes can be super fun!

Fashion Statement!

Bryson is always playing games or is up to something around the house. This particular day he found Kendyl's necklaces and assigned me with a purple one, Kendyl with a blue one and he wore the red one (his favorite color)!
This was nothing out of the ordinary and I just kept my necklace on like he instructed. It wasn't until I came upon this fashionista:

That I decided to pull out the camera!

Super Market Sweep!

I went to the grocery store to stock up on my favorite drink while it was on sale. As we entered the store Bryson found the small little carts and wanted to push his own. Since it should have been a fast shopping trip I let him.
It was going great until I noticed that every 10 seconds Bryson would see something, stop and yell "Mom, I have it" while holding something up. Whether it was chips, candy, BBQ sauce, jello, everything he saw he stopped and wanted it. It reminded me of the show Super Market Sweep, that I watched growing up, where you throw everything into your cart as fast as you can!
Bryson was directed to follow me (as I pushed my own cart), and it would have been a fast trip except I was in a store that I rarely go to. So I had no idea where to find things. Often I'd stop to look around and Bryson being instructed to follow me wouldn't see that I stopped and he'd ram his cart into the back of my heels. YE-OUCH!! It was the longest....short grocery trip I have ever had.

Movin' on up!

I found these pictures from January that I hadn't posted yet. This is Kendyl's first bath using her chair! I think she loved the change!
Here is a picture of Bryson using the chair when he was a baby, come to find out they were both 7 months old when I decided to put them in the chair!
Bryson providing the entertainment as always!

8 months old!

Oh Kendyl, Kendyl, Kendyl.
Kendyl is growing up way too fast. Her smile is contagious, her laugh makes you want to laugh along with her, and she is just too fun! She is such a happy baby and she is such a GOOD baby! I hear that almost every day, on how well behaved she is. She still has no teeth, but she eats like a champ and wants to put everything in her mouth. She loves to take off her shoes or socks and is extremely ticklish!

We just LOVE our little Miss Kendyl!
