Keeping balanced!

Kendyl has her own little spot on our sectional couch. Right in the middle where it bends is a perfect spot that will keep her upright. The other day I sat her in her spot while I did a few things and I walked back into the room to see her like this:
Her little bum was sliding down the couch and all she could do was stretch out her legs to keep from slipping any further.

It was a pretty funny sight!

3 year pictures

We drove up the canyon to take Bryson's 3 year old pictures! I can't believe that he is already 3, time goes by way too fast. We love you little guy!
Bryson currently loves listening to music, jumping on couches or beds, playing on the computer, being in charge of the remote, going to sleep late, ringing the door bell, chasing after Sabin, singing the ABC's, counting, playing hide and go seek, talking on the phone, putting money in his basketball bank, drinking anything that is carbonated and calls it "coca". He loves to rumble with Brady and when Brady pretends to cry, Bryson will run to me to tell me that "Daddy's cryning". Yes, cryning is how he says it and I love the way it sounds so much that I don't want to correct him. He loves to eat all the marshmallows out of the box of Lucky Charms and eats almost everything with ketchup. His all time favorite song is "I gotta feeling" by the Black Eyed Peas and if you belt out "I gotta feeling" from any where in the house I can guarantee you will hear a little voice sing "whoo, whoo". Bryson is full of energy and I can't imagine how boring life must have been before he joined our family!

Bryson turns 3!

This is the first year Bryson really understood that it was his birthday! All I heard about for weeks leading up to his birthday was that he wanted a Mickey Mouse cake and balloons. We celebrated with family the Sunday before his birthday!

When Bryson first started unwrapping his presents he was tearing the wrapping paper off in tiny pieces. It could have been a very long night, but he quickly got the ball rolling.
Bryson was perfectly content checking out his new Mickey Mouse DVD when he heard the reactions from everyone when they saw Brady bringing in another present. Bryson glanced over to see what it was, got a big smile, and climbed down from the chair to go check it out!

Bryson jumped on, gave us a "see-ya-later" look, and was off!

Tuesday, October 5th started off with the balloons Bryson wanted and even a phone call from Mickey Mouse himself!

Bowling time! The Crosbie's joined us for some bowling and ice cream to celebrate the night!

Brady explained the game the best he could to Bryson and he was ready to play!

Bryson's hopeful look as he watches his bowling ball!
Hmm, not any more.
He may need more practice!

Ellie's turn to bowl! What this picture doesn't show is just how very, very slow the bowling ball is moving.

It can take some pretty good patience to wait for these bowling balls!
Thank you everyone for all of the birthday wishes and gifts, Bryson had a blast!

Who turned out the lights?

It was a beautiful day yesterday until later in the evening when the wind began to blow and rain soon followed. The back door was open with the screen shut, I LOVE the smell of rain!
I had just put Kendyl down to sleep and I settled in to join Bryson in watching a cartoon when the lights flickered a few times. Each time they did I noticed a bright light illuminating the sky coming from the southwest. Then finally we were left sitting in the dark. That is when "huddle time" began! Without fail, every time the lights go out everyone in the house huddles together.

We found our candles and flashlights and it was fun to just hang out and talk about anything and everything!

The boys eating Ritz crackers and cheese spread.

Soon after we decided to call it a night and head for bed. There we were (Brady, Bryson and myself) trying to fall asleep in our bed. Why we didn't put Bryson in his own bed I have no idea, when the huddle effect is in place all rules go out the window!

Luckily the lights turned back on by 10:15 PM.
What did I learn?
That we run a circus around here!
Every light was on, TVs and everything. I would have loved to see what the three of us looked like coming out of the room with squinted eyes to what seemed like a party in Vegas!

Say what?

A conversation I had with Bryson on Saturday night!

Bryson: "Light, Light"
Me: "You can turn on the light"
Bryson: "Mommy, do it"
Me: (I give him the "what do you say" look)
Bryson: ......(silence)......
Me: "what's the word?"
Bryson: ......(silence)....
Me: "the magic word?"
Bryson: (excitedly) "HOCUS POCUS!!"

I died laughing and turned on the light even without him saying please!

Awesome weather!

These temperatures for this time of year is just awesome!
I kept hearing on the news about the record breaking temperatures and I was ready to play in the sun. So I invited a group of girlfriends over for a swim party!

There were 10 momma's and 16 kids & babies here! We ordered pizza and just talked, talked, and talked. The hours fly by when you're having fun!

Even Kendyl had some company!

I'm ready for an after-party!

Raspberry picking!

We were invited to join a group of friends and kids to go pick raspberries! There is a farm close by in Paradise that we were able to visit. It was right up against the mountains and was so pretty!

Check out this view!

Bryson started out carrying his bucket and caught on right away to only pick the red raspberries!

Soon enough I noticed Bryson doing this:

After he discovered how yummy they were, there were no more berries being contributed to our bucket on his behalf!

Bryson and his buddy Luke!

Another while later Bryson was ready for a change of pace.

While we were picking the raspberries all the girls were discussing what they were going to do with their berries. This is how I decided to use mine!

It was such a fun experience!
